Today’s post is another example of pattern mixing.
Confession: Every Thanksgiving, I go house to house strictly for food. Throughout the day on Thanksgiving, I take my appetite on tour. Friends, relatives, associates, and co-workers…no one is off limits…and there is no tour date I will not honor on Thanksgiving. Today, the “Thanksgiving Tour” started early with a Thanksgiving Lucheon at my daughter’s school. Not only did I find this as a time to celebrate the holiday early, but I also saw an opportunity for daddy/daughter dress up…thanks to my good friend “Ralph”:
Saddle shoes by Ralph Lauren.
Gold socks by J.Crew.
Stripe silk bow tie by Ralph Lauren. Blue herringbone spread collar dress shirt is also by Ralph Lauren.
The gentlemen and the lady are in everything Ralph Lauren.
Last night, we received our first bit of snow for the season. Although the snow did not stick to the ground, the hawk did not let up this morning. Cold weather calls for layers and heavier garments:
Brown boots by Magnanni.
Grey necktie is by J.Crew. Vintage brass tie bar is from Hong Kong Vintage Clothing. Blue spread collar dress shirt is by Van Heusen.
Glen plaid wool trousers are by Burberry. Faux leather jacket with wool collar is by Charles And A Half.
I know that I have been slacking with my daily updates lately, but I assure you that I am still dedicated to the exchange of style ideas with fellow stylish individuals. I am still committed to assisting those gentlemen who are interested in enhancing their own self-expression through the style of dress:
Blue plaid socks are by Club Room.
Blue polka dot silk neck tie is by J. Crew. Tie Bar is by Banana Republic. Stripe french cuff dress with white contrast collar is a thrifting find.
Cotton white pocket square…origin unknown.
Blue scroll cufflinks are by Banana Republic.
Khaki suit that features notch lapels, two button closure, flap pockets, rear center vent, and full interior lining is by Calvin Klein.
The weather is cooling…the leaves are falling, yet…nevertheless, the fall season is rapidly approaching. This is that in-between weather that I love:
Brown wingtip slip-on loafers with tassels by Florsheim are a thrifting find. Loafer socks (unseen) are by Steve Madden.
Silk stripe bow tie is by Ralph Lauren. White narrow collar dress shirt is by H & M.
Burnt orange flat front chinos are by J.Crew. Navy cardigan with leather elbow patches is by Ralph Lauren.
This particular look was put together by mixing three different shades of blue, accented by a little touch of cranberry:
Brown and white spectator wingtips by Johnston & Murphy.
Socks are by J.Crew.
Silk necktie is by Ralph Lauren. Brass tie bar is by Hong Kong Vintage Clothing. Blue pointed collar dress shirt is by Banana Republic.
Cranberry silk pocket square is a thrifting find.
Pinstripe slate blue vintage sport coat that features wide notch lapels, high side vents, two button closure, flap pockets, ticket pocket, and partial lining is a thrifting find. Navy flat front trousers are by Saks Fifth Avenue.
What rhymes with orange? I don’t know but I do know some colors that compliment orange extremely well:
Brown slip-on wingtip loafers with tassels by Florsheim are a thrifting find. Loafer socks (unseen) are by Steven Madden.
Silk neck tie is a thrifting find. Silver tie bar is by Banana Republic. Micro-window pane button down dress shirt by Brooks Brothers is a thrifting find.
Chocolate silk pocket square…origin unknown.
