Breaking Rules

Today’s look gives you an idea of how concerned I am with breaking the “rules of style”.  I cannot emphasize how annoyed I am with the thought that there are “rules to personal style”.  The concept just screams “oxymoron”.  The rule that I defied today pertains to the with of the necktie in comparison to the width of the lapel.  The rule is that width of your lapel is supposed to be similar to the width of the lapel on your jacket.  Observe why that does not matter:
